Welcome to Vannoy Elementary!
Vannoy Elementary School prides itself not only in academic excellence but also in being a close knit community dedicated to the welfare of all of the students. Our professional and caring instructional staff, supported by parents and caregivers, hold themselves to high standards and use research-based instruction so that all of our students can succeed. It is through teamwork that Vannoy has become a school deeply rooted in success, high achievement, and a beacon to the surrounding community.
Vannoy is Going Green
Schools in Alameda County generate 4% of the waste deposited in landfills annually. Volunteers at Vannoy Elementary have been working hard this year to reduce the amount Vannoy contributes and to educate our students on green environmental practices.
- Food scrap recycling in the lunchroom. This teaches our children environmentally sound recycling techniques and on average diverts 73% of a schools waste away from the landfills.
- Recycling containers next to trash containers around campus.
- Paper towel recycling in the classrooms and washrooms.
- Changes in waste practices at major Vannoy events.
- Additional educational opportunities about waste.
We appreciate your support as we work to green our campus and clean up our future. Vannoy received CV Sanitary District Green Ribbon Certification for 2010 – 2011. Go Cougars!
